Forestry mulching is the main work we do around Dayton. A drum mulcher on a mini skid steer grinds standing brush and small trees into mulch on the spot. The material stays on the ground as a chip layer that holds the soil. What is left is open, walkable ground.
Most of what we clear in Rhea County is acreage that got away from someone. Pasture edges creep in a few feet of briars every summer. Fence rows fill with privet and kudzu. A wooded back half turns into a wall of brush no mower will touch.
We are based just north of Chattanooga, about 23 miles down US-27 from Dayton. Rhea County sits well inside the area we cover. Estimates are free, and a call or text is all it takes to set one up.

Dayton sits on Richland Creek, which empties into the west side of Chickamauga Lake. East of town the land flattens into river bottom and lake coves. West of town Walden Ridge climbs toward the Cumberland Plateau. Rhea County covers about 315 square miles of land between the two.
Soil across the valley is red clay that holds water after a rain. The area gets roughly 50 inches of rain a year. Brush grows back fast in that mix of wet ground and long summers. A field that got cut two years ago can be over your head today.
Rhea County is still farm country. The 2017 farm census counted close to 500 farms here, and most ran under 180 acres. About a third of that farmland is pasture. Pasture means fence row, and fence row is where the brush starts.
Forestry mulching handles most of what we get called for. The mulcher grinds standing brush and small trees into chip and leaves it spread across the ground. For heavier acreage, land clearing opens the lot in stages so the trees worth keeping stay standing.
Open pasture and field edges get the rotary brush cutter instead. That is bush hogging work, and it brings a grown-up field back down to grass. Property lines are their own job. Fence line clearing cuts a working strip back so you can run new fence or reach a back gate.
Stumps left behind from a clearing job are a separate step. Stump grinding takes them below grade so the ground mows clean. Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. That matters on Dayton lots with a fenced front yard and a grown-up back half.
