Gravel driveway repair puts a worn drive back into shape. A few wet seasons fill a drive with potholes and cut ruts into the tracks. Washboard shows up on the grades where tires spin. Most of that gravel is still on your property, in the edges and the ditch line.
We repair and restore gravel driveways and gravel roads around Chattanooga. A Harley rake on our mini skid steer pulls that loose gravel back in. It cuts the high spots down and fills the low ones. Then we set a crown so rain runs to the sides instead of standing in the tracks.
Shape is what makes the repair hold. Red clay under a gravel drive stays soft for days after rain. Water that sits in a flat spot works its way down, and the hole comes back.
Tell us about the job and the ground. We will get right back to you.
Potholes are the common call. They start small, hold water, and get deeper every time a tire drops in. Ruts work the same way. Once the tracks are cut, every vehicle follows them.
Washboard is the ripple you feel coming up a grade or into a turn. Drives that have lost their crown sit flat or dished through the middle. Flat drives hold water, and the soft spots follow the water. Gravel pushed off into the shoulders leaves the driving surface thin.
The Harley rake works with the material already on the drive. It pulls the gravel back in, cuts the high spots, and levels the surface behind it. The crown gets set so water sheds to the shoulders. Where the water runs wider than the drive, yard drainage is the fix for the ground around it.
We start at the road and look at the full length of the drive. Where water comes in and where it stands tells us where the crown belongs. If brush has grown into the edges of a long drive, brush clearing opens it back up first.
The first pass pulls gravel back in from the shoulders and the grass. The rake cuts the high spots down and carries that material into the potholes and ruts. We work in sections so the whole surface finishes at one level.
The last passes set the crown and leave a smooth finish. You can drive on it that day, and traffic packs it back down over the first week. Many residential drives are a single visit. Gravel roads take more time on site.
Length and width of the drive set the starting point. Deep ruts and potholes take more passes than a surface that is only rough. Slope matters too, since a steep ridge side drive needs a heavier crown.
The condition of the gravel is the other piece. Some drives have plenty of stone left, just in the wrong place. Others are worn down to bare clay and need new stone before grading will hold. We tell you which one you have.

Reach us at (423) 260-5675 with what you need done and where the property sits. Photos of the growth help us size up the job.
We come out, look at the growth and how equipment gets in, then give you a price. The number tracks how thick the growth is and how much ground it covers.
You approve the price and we put the job on the schedule. We confirm the day ahead of time so you know when the machine is coming.
The mini skid steer comes in through the gate and the mulcher goes over the growth. Bigger stems come down first, then get ground into chips.
The chips get spread level across the cleared ground. What is left is open space you can mow, fence, or use for whatever comes next.

Our mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. Backyards, side yards, fence lines, and lots hemmed in by buildings are workable ground for us. The fence stays where it is.
We are licensed and insured. That matters when a mulcher head is running near your fence, your driveway, and the trees you want left standing. Ask and we will send the paperwork.
