West Chickamauga Creek runs north through town and passes under Battlefield Parkway. Reed's Bridge Road crosses the same creek east of the city. The bottoms along it stay soft and hold water for days after a wet stretch. Brush and briars take those low strips first.
Red clay across the valley holds water long after the rain quits. Warm, wet summers push growth back faster than most people expect. The mini skid steer is small and light for that kind of ground. It works the soft spots without chewing up the yard around them.
The national military park covers the southern two thirds of the city. Plenty of yards run right up against the park boundary. Those back edges turn into a wall of saplings and brush. Chinese privet and bush honeysuckle lead the way, and the Park Service fights both inside the battlefield.
Most calls here start with forestry mulching on ground nobody has touched in years. The mulcher takes brush and small trees in one pass. For a whole lot that has grown shut, land clearing opens it back up at residential scale.
