Forestry mulching is how most overgrown ground in Hixson gets opened back up. A mini skid steer with a drum mulcher grinds standing brush, vines, and small trees right where they stand. What is left is a chip layer that sits on the dirt and holds soil in place. You end up with open ground you can see across.
Land clearing at residential scale is the other half of the work here. Grown-up side lots, wooded back corners, and property lines that went to brush all fall under it. Three Crosses Land Services is based roughly ten miles north of Hixson on Hixson Pike. That puts Hixson closer to us than anywhere else we cover.
Hixson has no city hall of its own. It covers the piece of Hamilton County north of Rivermont and east of Red Bank. The Tennessee River runs the whole east edge. Everything from Northgate up to Thrasher Pike sits inside our normal working area.

Hixson sits in the ridge and valley country of East Tennessee. Long wooded ridges run in parallel lines with narrow valleys between them. Plenty of lots start level at the road and then climb or drop away into trees. The back third of a Hixson yard is often the part nobody has touched.
The east side of Hixson is water. Chickamauga Lake runs the length of it behind Chickamauga Dam, with marinas along the shore. Dallas Bay cuts deep inland, and Chester Frost Park sits out on the peninsula past Gold Point. Lake lots around there tend to fall away downhill through trees to the water.
Red clay sits under most of it, and clay holds water instead of letting it drain away. The Chattanooga area sees north of 50 inches of rain most years. Bottom ground along North Chickamauga Creek stays soft well after a storm. Heat and rain together push privet, kudzu, and briars from spring into fall.
Forestry mulching leads the work here. The mulcher grinds standing growth into chips in one pass, so a back lot gets handled in place. When a lot has gone all the way to woods, land clearing opens the usable ground back up. Most of what we clear around Hixson is house lots and small tracts.
Fields and pasture out toward Middle Valley grow back fast every summer. A rotary brush cutter handles that kind of brush clearing on open ground and grown-up fence lines. Once the growth is down, stump grinding takes the stumps below grade. We can mulch out the chips, add topsoil, and smooth the spot so it is ready to seed.
The dump trailer takes care of what is left over. Brush piles, storm debris, garage cleanouts, and leftover project material all get loaded and hauled. Clay is also why so many Hixson yards stay soft in the low corner. French drains and buried downspout lines carry that water away from the house and out to daylight.
Our base sits about ten miles north of Hixson, straight down Hixson Pike. Highway 153 puts the rest of the area in easy reach. Short travel keeps small jobs worth doing. One stump or a single overgrown side yard is a normal call for us.
The mini skid steer fits through a standard fence gate. Older Hixson subdivisions like Valleybrook and Northgate have narrow side yards and fenced back lots. The machine reaches the back corner through the gate you already have. Bigger equipment would want the fence opened up first.
